Pshavi is a poor, secluded, mountainous region in Northern Georgia. Due to heavy snow, it is usually completely cut off from the rest of the country in the winter. Schools are usually underfunded and experience low teaching quality. Pshavi is also one of the most untouched regions where tourists rarely venture. As mobile phone services in this area were only introduced two years ago, the locals are severely cut off from all sources of information.

5 high school students in villages Shuapkho and Tkhiliana who have been deemed socially vulnerable by Social Services have been identified as our beneficiaries through their local school. A tiny, underfunded school in Shuapkho only serves 16 students and most of them have to walk 2 miles every day to get to school.

Our beneficiaries are now equipped with laptops, Internet access and online courses. Since broadband internet isn’t yet available, we’ve also provided the students with 3G mobile Internet modems from our partner mobile network provider Magti.

How is the money spent

We are fully transparent. Every penny we spend is detailed in our transparency reports. Take a peek at our cost breakdown.
