For example, donors may provide us with personal information (such as name, email address, photo and/or credit/debit card information) when they create their accounts on our site and fill out forms delivered through our site or via email. If a donor, or a website visitor, contacts us by email they may provide us with their email address, and name. Providing data is required in these contexts in order for us to process your donations, requests, or respond to inquiries.

Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose in public areas of the site, such as in the creation of your Profile, becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others. You should exercise caution before disclosing your personal information through these public venues.

In addition to the personal information that you submit to us, we may collect personal information about you from reputable third parties, or automatically collect information using the following technologies:

Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection and compliance purposes. You can learn more about Stripe and read its privacy policy at Stripe.com.

Web Server Logs. Our web servers may collect certain information such as IP address, pages visited, time of visits, and referring website.

Cookies. Cookies are simple text files stored by your web browser that provide a method of distinguishing among donors and visitors to the website. Unless you disagree with cookie usage, GiveInternet.org uses cookies to identify your browser as you visit pages on our website or sites in our media network. Cookies also allow GiveInternet.org to provide more relevant, targeted content as you travel through sites in the GiveInternet.org media network as appropriate and are used on our ordering website to keep track of the items in your shopping cart.

We use Google Analytics to help analyze how users use the Site. Google Analytics uses Cookies to collect information such as how often users visit the site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve our site and services. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit the Site, rather than your name or other personally identifying information. We do not combine the information generated through the use of Google Analytics with your personal information. Although Google Analytics plants a persistent Cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit the Site, the Cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google.
