Lasha, 16, is turning his dream of becoming a sailor into a reality.

Growing up in a sea-side town, Lasha, like many of his friends, has always dreamt of becoming a sailor. Unlike his friends, he has a very clear strategy of how to get there.

Lasha is preparing to enrol into the naval academy in Georgia. His inspiration comees from the sea, his friends and family, but his progress relies on the Internet. Online, with his brand new computer, he looks for relevant information, attends classess, preps for the exams.

Read about the changes in the lives of our students in their own words. Irma, 16

"Before I had my own computer, all I could rely on were books. Now I can look up anything. As my knowledge accumulates, my self-esteem is growing, too."
