July 2024 - Monthly Update

We’re happy to present our latest monthly transparency report, highlighting our recent achievements. In July, we welcomed 32 new students into our project, providing them with laptops and Internet access. Thanks to our donors' support, these students can now pursue their educational goals and explore new opportunities every day.

Meet our newest students from Georgia, along with the 4 students from our trip to Kenya last November. They are currently enrolled in courses covering Full-stack Web Development and Multidisciplinary Design provided by our partner Nairobits Trust (in Nairobi, Kenya).

Meet Suzan, one of our students. Her story is about strength and hard work. She grew up as an orphan and faced many struggles. Then had to move to Kakuma as a single mother. Finding a job was hard until she found the Solidarity Initiative Refugees (SIR) and online work.

Suzan didn't know much about computers at first, but she kept trying. She learned quickly and got better every day. Soon, she started making money and her life improved a lot. Now with her laptop, Suzan can work anytime, even when she's not at the center, which helps her earn more. 📈✨

"We live in a digital world where technology is key. I'm fascinated by its evolution and see myself in computer science. The laptop is a huge help, letting me find information anytime. I used to study programming just a few days a week, but now I can do it every day."

There are 15+ students in Uganda and Kenya currently waiting to receive their laptops and Internet connectivity.
