Reena, from Kanpur, India, faced struggles getting an education due to family financial constraints. With determination, she completed her ITI diploma. Then, she discovered NavGurukul, where she learned software programming. Now, she is the person upon which her family relies. With the laptop from giveinternet.org, Reena continues her studies and work.

Rupali is currently attending English sessions at our partner organization, NavGurukul, which delivers affordable tech education to underprivileged girls in India. Interested in management, Rupali aspires to become CEO of Navgurukul and support women in education. She values time and sees the computer's importance in learning and achieving her goals.

"The laptop will help me study important topics, create projects, attend trainings, and take online tests," says Lisa. She enjoys mathematics, biology, and Georgian at school because she likes numbers, the structure of living beings, and native literature. Reading books in her free time is her favorite activity, as it broadens her horizons and improves her vocabulary.

Achol, coming from Torit, South Sudan now living in Kakuma Refugee Camp, uses her laptop to enhance her app portfolio and explore online job opportunities. She faced resistance from her family, who deemed computers as tools for men. Despite the challenges, she persevered, overcoming objections to pursue her passion. 

Brian, aspiring senior front-end developer, grew up in a family of seven. He found his coding passion at Learning Lions. His first independent project in the mobile LEAP program sparked his interest. Now with a laptop, Brian's focus is on continuous coding, mastering web development skills through online courses, tutorials, and exercises.

Abraham is interested in exploring new programming languages, generative AI and data science. One project he is proud of from his studies is a web application developed by him that streamlined a local business's online ordering process. I aim to continue growing my freelance business and take on challenging projects.

Katodi, a future graphic designer, sees a laptop as a key to unlocking creative potential. With sponsored device, he would like to transform his artistic visions into reality, utilizing advanced graphic design software. For Katodi, the laptop is a canvas for challenging projects, helping him to deliver high-quality work and leave a lasting impression on clients and audiences alike.

Faith is a coding enthusiast with a dream to become a full-stack developer and solve real-world problems using her digital skills. With a new laptop, Faith's first move is creating a Portfolio Website to showcase her skills and projects, unlocking possibilities from anywhere.

Patrick is enrolled in Learning Lions' graphic design and freelancing class. After receiving the laptop the first thing he did was install all the necessary software for designing and photography. This device, he believes, will open doors to more job opportunities, providing the means to secure a stable income for his family.

Jeniffer, aspiring to be a vet and front-end developer, attends Freelancing training by Learning Lions. Her new laptop facilitates continuous learning, allowing her to work anytime and apply for jobs on platforms like Upwork. Beyond professional pursuits, Jeniffer plans to use it to teach others who want to be in the tech space, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.

Ayen dreams of becoming one of the best-known graphic designers. She loves turning ideas into art and communicating through pictures. A laptop not only facilitates her learning and skill development but also provides a platform for her to offer her services and gain valuable experience in the online world.

William, born in Kakuma refugee camp, dreams of combining IT and design for innovative solutions. Despite life challenges, his project 'Kakuma Made' unites talented youth, showcasing creativity in painting, design, dancing, and photography. William's goals include developing the project, supporting camp talents, and sharing their creativity globally. 

Aisha, from Nairobi's marginalized community, shifted to Mombasa, joining "Pwani Teknowgalz" for women in tech. While attending the course, she created the "Healthy Hair Routine" app. She is determined to be a professional software engineer. Motivated by community support and coding bootcamps, Aisha will use her new computer to explore tech further and share her knowledge with other females.

Brenda, a Mathematics and Computer Science graduate from Kenyatta University, is passionate about teaching and technology. While searching for an internship, she volunteers at a community school. In the world of Mathematics and Computer Science, a laptop is crucial for handling projects, making Brenda's journey challenging without one. Thanks to a laptop from GiveInternet.org she overcame obstacles and completed her final project at Pwani Teknowgalz. 

Mariam, head of the ICT department in Lamu County, collaborates with Pwani Teknogalz to empower students with coding skills. Passionate about computer science, she participates in codehack training, acquiring skills in mobile development. Gaining a laptop, Mariam installs Android Studio to finalize her Flutter app and uses Scratch for student coding training, showcasing the transformative impact of technology in education.

Rachel seeks to pursue a degree in computer science. She values the potential of technology to create positive global change, bridging gaps and empowering others. Gaining a laptop and internet access is crucial for her professional goals, offering opportunities for career growth, access to information and knowledge, facilitating education and learning, and enabling research and study—a key to unlocking her potential in the field.

Stephen, from Lodwar, Kenya studied Mass Media Communication at East Africa Institute of Certified Studies and founded Turkana TV, the region's first online TV station. Now, with a new laptop, he pursues a career in film, photography, and graphic design. Stephen swiftly registered on freelancing platforms, aiming to follow in the footsteps of media mogul SK Macharia and leave a lasting impact on Kenya and Africa's media scene.

Faith is studying website development and wants to become a professional in the future! A new laptop means more time for practicing and perfecting her skills. She is happy about receiving Internet access, as she wishes to widen her connections and find all the exciting opportunities online. 

Nelly is passionate about many things in life - she is currently studying accounting at ALX Africa while trying to hone her tech skills via additional courses. Her dream is to become a data scientist, but throughout her life, her main priority has been uplifting those in need. We are proud to have helped someone like Nelly on her journey to change the world.

Charles comes from a humble background and being the eldest son of seven children, he knows the impact a supportive and hardworking community can have on a person's development. He is actively working towards his dream career as a UX researcher, in addition to his hobbies of traveling and swimming. He is also passionate about mental health awareness and wants to "combine his interests to create solutions for the problems the world is facing".

According to Ikem, the very first thing she'll use her new laptop for is acing the 100-day coding challenge, and it has been a great source of relief because it will "make coding easier for her, increase her performance and make her journey of being a software engineer seamless".

Solomon enrolled in a free digital skills training program that would enable him to acquire his desired skill of website development. With the support of the Elevate program, he was saved from the pits of drugs and gambling. A newly acquired laptop and internet access will serve as a stepping stone towards many great things on the journey of his professional development.

Marion attributes the resilience and positivity that helped her defeat cancer to her loving family and supportive friends. She is fighting for better access to education and has even developed some ideas to implement tech to enhance the quality of learning. She is passionate about technology and will use her new laptop to dive into topics such are cybersecurity and cloud computing, in addition to increasing the time she spends on training and job search.
