Cathy lives in a friendly slum area in Uganda. She found her love for logo design in school and that has become a fun hobby. Cathy is proud of her work and dreams of becoming a great graphic designer one day. Having her own computer makes it easier for her to create, especially since there aren’t enough computers at school. She is determined to improve her skills and make her family proud with her designs.

Samuel, the youngest in a family of seven, is proud of his documentary project about young people in his community, which he created during his filming and photography course. He loves watching behind-the-scenes footage of famous movies and is motivated by professional film editors he sees on social media. His dream is to become a great film editor and create movies that “change people’s life”. With a laptop, Samuel can design and share his creative work, giving him the chance to work with others around the world.

Brasio, who grew up in a village of Uganda with limited utilities, discovered his passion for creative design through school projects like poster and magazine designing, which soon became his favorite hobbies. make his designs more efficiently. He is excited to keep working toward his goals, fueled by his interests in both design and travel.

Badru, who grew up in Mutundwe in a quiet environment, enjoyed working on a logo design project for a Western company at school. Motivated by his graphics design teacher and his challenging home background, Badru dreams of working for some of the biggest companies in the world. With strong values centered around his parents, he is determined to turn his passion for design and technology into a successful career.

Victoria is an aspiring filmmaker from Uganda. Despite challenges, she sees a bright future ahead through her education at Era2Elevate, where she discovered her passion for storytelling and creating meaningful communication through film. Receiving a laptop will allow her to enhance her video editing skills and pursue her hobby anytime, without being limited to class hours. Victoria plans to use the laptop for research in filmmaking and marketing herself, turning her script writing skills into reality through film.

Poster design projects are her favorite class activity, and she draws inspiration from designers like Kasozi Cliff on social media. With a strong interest in cars and a drive to create original designs, Faith's goal is to become a skilled graphic designer who can bring ideas to life from scratch. Receiving a computer will help her complete projects on time and further develop her creativity, turning her design ideas into reality.

Mariam from Ambrolauri, Racha, Georgia, is aspiring to be a designer! At school, she studies English, Georgian, and history with great interest. However, she finds physics, mathematics, and Russian challenging, which makes her less enthusiastic about those subjects. With her new computer, Mariam plans to actively search for educational resources and engage in various projects.

Her favorite subject at school is Georgian language, but she does not enjoy biology. She plans to watch Khan Academy videos to improve her understanding of biology. In her spare time, she helps her family with household chores.

Grace from Kenya attends a Multidisciplinary Design course at Nairobits. She is fascinated by and admires people who use it to make a difference. She dreams of becoming a graphic designer. Family, love, and health are most important to her. With a laptop and internet access, Grace could work on projects, learn new skills online, and take freelance jobs. This would help her improve life for her family and community, making her dreams come true.

Hassan faced financial challenges that delayed his secondary education. Despite these struggles, he managed to complete his schooling with good grades. A supportive principal offered him a teaching role, which helped him gain confidence and improve his communication skills. Eventually, he joined Nairobits and started to learn coding & design. He dreams of becoming a software developer and starting his own tech company to employ and uplift youth from underprivileged communities. Laptop will help him meet deadlines, utilize his skills effectively, and stay updated with market trends, ultimately allowing him to help his family and society.

She prefers spending her free time alone, doing research, and working on projects like logo design and sketching, which are her favorites. Cathy aspires to become a graphics designer and aims to start her own design company. With access to a computer and internet, Cathy will have more time for research, helping her achieve her goals and improve her skills. Previously, waiting in lines to use a computer hindered her ability to complete assignments, but now she is excited about the opportunity to extend her knowledge and pursue her dreams.

Bashir from Uganda dreams of becoming a recognized and respected software engineer. He graduated from the Elevate program in 2022, where he learned coding and website development. During his time at Elevate, he worked on a project called "Pistis," a platform to facilitate blood donations, which won a top prize and fueled his passion for making a positive impact. After graduation, he had to travel long distances to use the computers at Elevate in Lungujja, which was both expensive and time-consuming. Access to a computer significantly enhanced his ability to pursue his goals and continue his journey in software engineering.

Joan is turning hardship into purpose with a camera in hand. After joining Era92 Elevate, she studied film and now earns income by creating music videos and ads. With a laptop from GiveInternet.org, she is building Ghetto Stories, a YouTube channel sharing voices from Uganda's slums. Her journey is only just beginning.

Now, with a laptop in hand, he finally has the key to turning his talent into a sustainable career.

Nilofar dreams of becoming a cardiac surgeon. She had successfully completed three years of medical school in Afghanistan before the Taliban takeover forced her to stop attending university. Refusing to give up on her education, she applied and was accepted into the MIT Emerging Talent Program. She also has skills in web development and graphic design. With her new laptop, Nilofar can now pursue her online studies and find remote work to support her goals.

Marika from Georgia decided to become a gynecologist after her town had no local specialist and women were left waiting for care.
