RefuSHE is a Nairobi-based organization dedicated to protecting, educating, and empowering one of the world's most vulnerable populations: young refugee women and girls who have fled war, persecution, domestic violence, and natural disasters. Since 2008, RefuSHE has provided services to over 3,150 young refugee women, girls, and their children, combining safe shelter, case management, legal help, mental health care, vocational training, and entrepreneurship support. 

RefuSHE's model is rights-based, trauma-informed, and girl-centered. Central to their approach is the belief that dignified, viable livelihoods are essential to breaking cycles of abuse and exploitation. Their vocational training programs prepare girls and young women to enter the job market with real, marketable skills, and their Artisan Collective, a peer-driven social enterprise, helps graduates become economically independent entrepreneurs.

Our collaboration focuses on supporting an all-women cohort of students in RefuSHE's programs. Students build technical skills in tailoring, ICT, carpentry, and cosmetology, preparing them for financial independence and meaningful careers. For many, this training becomes a critical first step toward building a stable and self-sufficient life.
