We are serving our students through our local partners. You can choose to sponsor a specific project or donate to the general fund and leave it up to us to distribute the funds based on what our local teams need.
Providing refugees with laptops to access digital jobs
Malawi hosts the Dzaleka Refugee Camp, home to over 50,000 displaced people. Due to local laws, refugees living in the camp are restricted from formal employment in the country, leaving the vast majority without a clear way to earn a living.
To create alternative opportunities, we partner with the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) and Konexio. They run a training program inside the camp, teaching practical, high-demand skills like data processing, translation, graphic design, and web development. However, once the training is complete, students need reliable equipment to enter the digital workforce.
With the support of GiveInternet.org donors, we provide these students with personal laptops and internet access. By connecting them to the global digital economy, this equipment allows them to overcome physical and geographical barriers. They can take on remote freelance work, collaborate with clients worldwide, and build sustainable, independent livelihoods directly from the camp.
