Giving Internet to Ali in Indonesia

One-Off
Indonesia Georgia

Ali had to leave Afghanistan when he was one, living first in Pakistan, and then in Indonesia. Because of the country's policy, as a refugee, he was legally not allowed to achieve his dream of getting a higher education, but that didn't stop him from enrolling in an online University of the People, where he got a scholarship as well. At the UoPeople, he got nominated for another one-year program at MIT ReAct, where he furthered his knowledge in computer science, and since then has started volunteering and teaching fellow refugees. He is hopeful of his future, and since receiving a laptop, plans to further his involvement in the community, to better the lives of people like himself.

We are grateful for the opportunity to assist Ali and people like him on his journey, and we hope to come back to Indonesia in the near future.
